It is the year 2033. Twenty years ago, a nuclear war destroyed the civilized world. In Moscow, a small portion of the population has sought refuge in the largest nuclear-free bunker on Earth: the metro, once built by Stalin. Here, deep underground, a few thousand people survive on a few dozen stations, divided into a handful of smaller and larger confederations of different ideologies - communist, fascist, liberal-capitalist - who are in a state of Cold War with each other and connected by dangerous, mysterious metro tunnels. Above ground, the radiation has made human life impossible and given rise to new forms of life. Now, these mutants threaten to invade the metro, to destroy what remains of humanity.
